Disney animator Heidi Gilbert recently put together this original animatic based on the Wicked musical in an attempt to see about having it done as an animated movie.

Is it sad that after hearing this soundtrack when i was a freshman in highschool, one of my ideas for when I become an animator was to pitch it as an animated film, URG THIS IS SO CLOSE TO WHAT WAS IN MY HEAD and DEAR LORD IS IS AMAZING!

Pretty sure I reblogged this before but I would actually piss my pants if this became a thing

I lost this on my dash once before and just finally got to watch it, and I tell you, seeing an animated film centered on two awesome female leads, focusing on their friendship; a relatable, mature relationship (I know there are plenty of “friendship” messages in animated shows and films “for little girls”, but this is entirely different and I’d love to see it). The themes in this play are wonderful and well-suited to an animated musical.

if this could be a thing though, Elphie’s unnecessary love interest should just not exist.
